In October we began our series of closer looks at the Jones Engineering Quality Management System (QMS). The JE QMS is accredited to the ISO9001:2015 and establishes a framework for how our business manages its key processes. The first two procedures we looked at were QSP1, Control of Documentation and Records and QSP14, Drawing Control.
In the most recent issue in November we seen how Jones Engineering Lean Thinking went Dutch as our project team based at Nederland Oss have taken our Lean message
on board and transformed a 40’ container from an empty shell into a fully contained, secure, mobile storage facility which would enhance any construction project. The next two procedures in our QMS series were featured, QSP02, I.T. Resource Management and QSP04, Manpower and Training.
November was also when Lean Construction Ireland launched it’s first Book of Cases . The new annual LCi Book of Cases will provide examples from across the Irish Construction
sector where organisations and companies, both public and private, have delivered real tangible value and benefits by adopting Lean thinking and practices as part of the project
delivery process.
Lean Construction Ireland held its first National Conference in Croke Park on November 20th. The minister for Trade, Employment, Business, EU Digital Single Market and Data Protection, Pat Breen TD and Chair of Lean Construction Ireland Richard Fitzpatrick dropped by the Jones Engineering stand to meet our Lean Dept.
