In Issue 62 in April, after four years into our Lean journey we asked the question, “What is a Lean Project?”
We know Lean is not a physical thing, it can’t be bought or made. Eric Gabriel, “The lean approach to project management.” states: “Lean Project Management is the application of lean concepts such as lean construction, lean manufacturing and lean thinking to project management.”
We also heard how, “Jones Engineering’s condition monitoring technicians on the Diageo site have been delivering results and reports based on thermographic surveys to clients at sites across Dublin since 2010 using equipment such as the Fluke Ti25 thermal camera.“
Robbie Eagers and Sean Whelan demonstrated their continuous improvements at Diageo
There was lots happening in May and in a packed issue we learned how the project team in Riyadh Metro 1B2 Station benefitted from information sharing via the LEAN Times. In a previous issue we reported on an innovative tool discovered by our own Paddy Smith that cut the time screwing nuts onto trapeze brackets by almost 70%. We also learned how, “Through a variety of techniques, including vibration analysis, lube oil analysis and thermography; Jones Engineering’s Condition Monitoring technicians are helping clients to predict and prevent equipment failure and downtime.
In June two former Kings of the Mountains, Sean Kelly and Jim Curley Snr. joined forces to support the Jones Engineering Annual Charity Cycle in Clonmel.
We also learned about New Industry Innovations and asked the question, “Is your technology up to date.” The Gardaì and the CIF told us to secure our tools.
